You need a ACT Score of 21+(SAT of 1160+) and a GPA of 3.25+, or ACT Score of 24+(SAT of 1160+) and a GPA of 3.0+ANDGPA of 2.0+(Out of sate 2.5+) in high school college prep  curriculum or college courses taken in high school

Architecture

Admission is selective.

  • Must be admissible to KU by assured admission or individual review
  • 3.2+ cumulative high school GPA and
  • 24+ ACT (1160+ SAT*)
  • Complete the Architecture Interest Profile on your KU application for admission, or separately at sadp.ku.edu

Dance

Design

If you're applying after Nov. 1, you will also need to answer three essay questions and submit a portfolio of 10-20 images with a color inventory sheet.

Education

Admission is selective.

Teacher education program

  • Apply in the fall of your sophomore year at KU
  • Letters of recommendation and essays are required

Sport management, community health, health and physical education, and exercise science programs

  • Apply by the end of your sophomore year at KU
  • Letters of recommendation and essays are required
Engineering

Admission is selective.

  • Must be admissible to KU by assured admission or individual review
  • 3.0+ cumulative high school GPA and
  • 22+ ACT math score (550+ SAT* math score) to be admitted to the first-year general engineering program, OR
  • 26+ ACT math score (620+ SAT* math score) to be admitted directly to the aerospace engineering, architectural engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, construction management, engineering management, engineering physics, environmental engineering, environmental science, information technology, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering or project management programs, OR
  • 28+ ACT math score (660+ SAT* math score) to be admitted directly to the computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, and interdisciplinary computing programs

Health Professions

Admission is selective.

Students enter these programs after two years of undergraduate study at KU or another institution.

In all programs, prerequisite courses in biology, chemistry, and math must be completed with a grade of C or better. All grades (including courses that were repeated) are used in the calculation of the GPA. Additional requirements vary by program.

  • Clinical laboratory science, 2.70+ college GPA
  • Health information management, 2.50+ college GPA
  • Respiratory care, 2.50+ college GPA

Social Welfare

Visual Art

Students in theatre
