High School Equivalency Exams

We will consider all applicants for admission on a case-by-case basis, but those who have taken a high school equivalency exam and meet the following standards are assured admission to KU:

  • have earned a 2.0 transferable GPA on any college credit taken in high school
  • have earned a 21+ ACT (1060+ SAT)*
  • submit official GED or HiSET test scores that meet the minimums in the table below:

Students who took the GED in Kansas should request that official scores be sent from the Board of Regents GED page.

*If you are 21 and older, test scores are not required. All references to SAT scores refer to math and evidence-based reading and writing from tests taken after March 2016.
