Confirm Your Enrollment at KU

Congratulations on your admission to KU. Submit your enrollment deposit by May 1 to confirm your place in the incoming Jayhawk class and begin your next steps.

Submitting your enrollment deposit unlocks the next steps in becoming a Jayhawk. Once your deposit is received, you’ll be able to:

  • Register for Orientation.
  • Begin the housing selection process (after submitting your housing contract).
  • Access enrollment and advising steps.
  • Start planning your first semester at KU.

How to Pay Your Deposit

Click Confirm Enrollment above and log in with your KU Online ID.

If navigating manually:

  1. Log in to Enroll & Pay
  2. Select Student Financials
  3. Choose Pay Bills / KU Card / Dining
  4. Select Pay Tuition, Housing and Other Charges

Enrollment Deposit Details

Your enrollment deposit secures your place in the incoming Jayhawk class and unlocks important next steps. The information below explains deposit amounts, payment options, and policies.

Deposit Amount

The freshman enrollment deposit is $275.

Transfer students do not pay an enrollment deposit but are assessed a $75 new student fee once enrolled in classes.

Before Paying Your Deposit

Before submitting your deposit, make sure you have created your KU Online ID, which is required to access Enroll & Pay.

If you have recently been admitted and do not see the enrollment deposit charge in Enroll & Pay, check back the following day as the charge may take time to appear on your account.

When submitting payment online, make sure your browser allows pop-ups, as additional windows may open during the payment process.

Payment Methods

You can submit your enrollment deposit through Enroll & Pay using your KU Online ID.

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit card (MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express)
  • Electronic check

A 2.95% processing fee applies to credit card payments. There is no fee when paying by electronic check.

Deposit Refund Policy

The enrollment deposit may be refundable or partially refundable depending on outstanding charges on your KU account.

If you update your application by May 1 to indicate that you will not attend KU, the deposit is refundable.

If you attend Orientation and/or enroll in classes, the deposit becomes nonrefundable.

Types of Enrollment Deposit

To allow parents or delegates to make payments on your behalf, you must establish each as a delegate in Enroll & Pay. Please set your browser to allow pop-ups, as additional windows will open during each process, and follow both sets of instructions below.

There is a 2.95% fee for paying with a credit card (MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express are accepted), and no fee for paying by electronic check.

Submit the Enrollment Deposit Deferment Form to add the $275 deposit to your KU bill for later payment. You'll use your KU online ID and password to submit this form. For deposit deferral to be approved, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • You received an application fee grant
  • You are eligible for a federal Pell Grant
  • You received a military fee waiver for the application fee
  • You participate in one of the following programs: Upward Bound, Talent Search, Student Support Services, Educational Opportunity Center, GEAR Up, KC Scholars, 20/20 Leadership Program, AVID, ECO Program, or Project Discovery
  • You received an ACT/SAT fee waiver
  • You participate in a federal free/reduced lunch program

Transfer students do not pay an enrollment deposit and do not need to submit a deposit deferment form.
