KU Pell Advantage

The Pell Advantage covers the cost of tuition and fees for 30 credit hours per year and up to four years of undergraduate study. The Pell Advantage is a combination of state, federal, and institutional funding for eligible Kansas students.

Scholarship amount

  • Approximately $10,900 per year

The Pell Advantage covers tuition and campus fees (excludes course fees) for 15 credit hours per semester for four years and is not available for the summer term.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must fulfill all the following:

  • be a Kansas resident
  • be graduating from high school in 2017-2018
  • enroll at KU for the first time in fall 2018
  • be admitted to KU
  • complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 1
