Raise.me Scholarships

The Raise.me Scholarship is a pilot program that encourages high school students to begin thinking about and working toward college as early as their ninth grade year. High school students who might otherwise not be able to consider KU can add achievements and become eligible to earn micro-scholarships.

Raise.me is available to incoming freshmen who enroll at any time, and it cannot be combined with any other renewable KU scholarships. Students who qualify for multiple scholarship offers will receive only one offer at the higher funding level.

Scholarship amounts

  • $1,000 per year for Kansas students
  • $11,822 per year for out-of-state students

How to apply

Create an online account through Raise.me, "follow" the University of Kansas, and add individual achievements to your account before Nov. 1 of your senior year. Next, submit your KU admission application by Nov. 1. Accepted students who meet all the criteria will receive the Raise.me Scholarship.

How much does it cost?

Creating a portfolio through Raise.me is free for high school students and counselors.

When should I start?

Now! If you're a 9th-12th grade student, you can participate at any time. You can retroactively add achievements earned in previous years, starting with your freshman year. High school seniors must submit an admission application to KU and have completed their student profile on Raise.me by Nov. 1.

Why is my Kansas high school not a participating school?

Raise.me is a pilot program for KU, and a select group of schools were chosen for this test. However, the process and eligibility requirements will be re-evaluated each year.

Renewal criteria

To be eligible for renewal, you must complete 30 KU hours and earn a cumulative 3.25 KU GPA.
