TRIO and Special Group Visits

Thank you so much for your interest in visiting KU. At this time, we are no longer accepting special group requests for the remainder of the spring semester due to the high volume of visits. Our summer visit program will begin in early June 2012. If you are interested in a summer group visit, please email Greg Valdovino at gregv@ku.edu or call 785-864-5160 for further assistance. We look forward to seeing you on Mount Oread.

We would be proud to welcome you and your group to our beautiful campus and help students discover what it means to be a Jayhawk. Regardless of your group’s size or makeup, we will do our best to provide your students with a personalized KU visit to fit their needs.

Types of Groups

The Office of Admissions provides group visits specially designed for:

  • Middle school (6th-9th graders)
  • High school (9th-12th graders)
  • Community college students
  • TRIO, AVID, or any other group with a special interest

Group guidelines:

  • One chaperone is required per 8 students
  • Maximum group size: 100 (for groups larger than 100, please contact us directly for further assistance)
  • Group etiquette (We want you to get the most out of your experience here at KU. Being attentive, courteous, and mindful of others will enhance your enjoyment.)

Visit Dates

Spring Visits for Special Groups: January 24 - May 3

A one-hour presentation is required for all campus visits. Please plan to arrive 20-25 min. prior to check-in to get the most out of your time with us.

Visit Options

In addition to your presentation, you may include other sessions to help your students explore Jayhawk life. Please note that all options require 30 days’ notice accommodate your schedule and the presenters’ schedules. Departmental presentations will depend on their reps’ availability and are not offered on Saturdays. Student panels and housing tours are 30 minutes.

*Student panel will depend on students’ availability.
**A campus tour cannot be guaranteed for groups who are more than 20 minutes late.

Campus tours are a one-hour walking tour and are offered:
Tuesdays-Fridays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturdays at noon.

We cannot accommodate group visits on the following dates:

March 15 & 30
April 10 & 11
May 5
