Transfer Friday

Transfer Friday can be a half day or full day event, depending on what you'd like to accomplish while you're here.  Reservations are required.  Please provide at least 10 days' notice so we can schedule appointments as requested.  Visit days do fill up.  Be sure to reserve your spot early.

Transfer Fridays are designed for all prospective transfer students wanting to learn more about KU.  If you are an admitted transfer student looking to enroll in classes, you should register for New Student Orientation instead of Transfer Friday. You can register for New Student Orientation here.

What is Transfer Friday?

Your visit will include:

  • A one-hour introduction to KU from a transfer admissions representative, including information about admission requirements, scholarships and financial aid, as well as an overview of KU's top-ranked academic programs
  • A one-hour walking tour of campus with a current KU student

During your visit, you may also request to meet with a faculty member, academic adviser or financial aid representative (requires 10 days' notice; subject to availability) Any additional tours or meetings will take place after the campus tour.

We provide parking and campus transportation. In the event of inclement weather, we may offer a shortened campus tour via bus. Please remember to dress appropriately for a walking tour and the ever-changing Kansas weather. Casual attire is fine.

Transfer Fridays occur on most Fridays throughout the academic year and during the summer at 11:00 a.m.

Please note that some options such as academic appointments are not available during breaks when school is not in session.

KU faculty and advisers are often assisting with new student orientation programs during the summer. Therefore, individual academic appointments are limited. We will fill requests on a first-come, first-served basis
