Kansas residents graduating from accredited high schools

To qualify for admission to KU as freshmen, students graduating from an accredited high school in Kansas must submit a completed application with the $30 fee and meet the following requirements:

  • Complete the Kansas Qualified Admissions curriculum with a 2.0+ GPA
  • Achieve a 21+ ACT (980+ SAT) OR rank in the top one-third of your high school class
  • If applicable, achieve a 2.0 GPA or higher on any college credit taken in high school

  • Submit official GED or HiSET test scores. Scores must meet the following minimums:
    • GED on or after January 1, 2014: 150 or more points on each sub-test and an overall score of 680 or higher.
    • GED between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2013: 510 or more points on each sub-test and an overall score of 2550 or higher.
    • GED prior to January 1, 2002: 50 or more points on each sub-test and an overall score of 250 or higher.
    • HiSET on or after January 1, 2014: 8 or more points on each sub-test and an overall score of 75 or higher.
  • Submit official ACT or SAT scores. Scores must meet the following minimum. For student 21 and older test scores are not required.
    • A 21+ ACT (980+ SAT)
